About Me

Cory & Randee

A southern girl at heart, I was born and raised in the heart of Metairie.  I am the youngest of 4 and the only girl. I was involved in the talented program for drama and appeared in several plays throughout middle and high school with Jefferson Performing Arts.  I was also the Drum Major for my middle and high school band and played 1st chair flute. I graduated from East Jeff high school and then attended the University of New Orleans pursuing my communications degree.

I’ve been to almost all of the 50 states and I LOVE to travel.  Growing up, my parents owned several businesses in Metairie & Kenner but every Summer we would travel the country to visit family or follow the car clubs.  My dad’s passion and business was restoring 1950 Oldsmobiles (although we did other mechanics as well).  As a result I grew up loving cars, especially classic cars.We traveled the country in a red 1950 Olds station wagon my dad built that had all of the comforts of a modern car.  Those are the memories I remember most!

As an adult, I was married to a Marine who was injured in August 2005 in the largest recorded roadside bomb in Iraq.  We lived in Houston for 6 months post Katrina so he could get the treatment he needed.  Navigating healthcare and insurance claims in a post Katrina world was definitely a challenge. We later divorced in 2009.  I started working in insurance in 2005 for a family member while living in Houston.  In 2006, I left the life/health family agency I was working for and moved to the Northshore to start my baby All Saints Insurance.  Having grown up with a parent with pre-existing conditions and witnessing the struggles of insurance claims being denied when there was supposed to be coverage left a lasting impression on me growing up.  That’s why today I am so passionate about making sure that our insured’s know what they’re buying and what they can expect in the event of a claim.

In 2010 I met Cory through some mutual friends. We kept in touch and started dating in May 2011.  We got engaged on Christmas 2011 in front of my family and friends.

The Renaissance Motors Team

Since then we’ve grown our family and now have 2 fur-kids – Jax is 5 and Dixie is 3 months old and they go to work with us every day.  In 2017, Cory and I decided to open a shop together that would become Renaissance Motors.  Our vision was to have a shop that would service both gas & diesel vehicles that would provide transparency and a trusted source for service, repair, and upgrades.  For me personally providing a place where women can come and get an honest diagnosis and repair without worry of being taken advantage of was my top priority.

Work Experience

I started working in insurance in 2005 for a family member,  who was a seasoned veteran of the insurance industry.  He taught me to analyze policies and figure out how I could help people avoid financial ruin in the event of a claim. In 2006, I left the life/health family agency I was working for and moved to the Northshore to start my baby, All Saints Insurance.

In 2007, I was sharing an office with some clients of mine who owned a construction company here in Slidell.  I was handling all of their life/health policies but they wanted me to handle all of their policies. They convinced me to go and get my property & casualty license and even paid for it and now the rest is history!

Hobbies

Jax & Dixie

I LOVE to travel! I love visiting Tennessee, the beach and visiting family in Chicago.  Cory and I love live music and going to concerts.  The 1st cassette tape I ever bought was Cracked Rear View from Hootie & the Blowfish which is still my favorite band. I got to see them twice in 2019 for their anniversary tour which was pretty awesome and thankfully before Covid.  My taste in music is pretty eclectic. If you’re riding with me you never know what’s next on my playlist.  It’ll shuffle from some Hootie, to Halestorm, then maybe some Motley Crue, then some Eric Church or classic country or oldies.

I love playing with our pups and teaching them new tricks.  I taught Jax to play dead when you say “bang”. He’s so dramatic and definitely my favorite trick he performs.  I love visiting with family and sitting around the table telling stories. Being a workaholic I don’t get to do these things as often as I’d like but look forward to getting back to traveling and concerts soon!  I also love to bake desserts!  My claim to fame is my pumpkin pie.  It taste just like McKenzie’s pies when I was growing up.
